There are a thousand instances in a moment, and yet not one is the same as another. Each one holds a special, unique beauty about it that can be missed in the daily rush of life. I want to thank you for taking the time to visit. It is a joy to share with you some of the images that I so love taking! My name is Kathleen, although many know me as Kaht. I am the daughter of a photographer and I hold a BSFA degree (Bachelors of Science in the Fine Arts) in photography and journalism. Throughout my schooling I studied various art forms along with a mixture of art history and new media journalism. In the end, it all boiled down to me becoming a very versatile photographer. I pride myself on being able to switch seamlessly from artistic photography to a more photo journalistic approach. It has also helped me capture some of those amazing moments that can slip by in seconds.
Photography is truly an art form that preserves memories. In my early training I worked mainly in black-and-white with a medium format Mamiya 330 film camera, fondly named Lucy. I still use this camera occasionally during shoots as I believe it captures a classical black-and white that is timeless and elegant. In my everyday camera bag I carry digital Nikon cameras that capture large, high-quality images for great printing quality. Back in my office I work with the latest technology to create beautiful images that will last you a lifetime of memories! Every one of my digital negatives are backed up three times, because try as I might, I still do not trust the temperaments of computers.
I am a born and bred Vermonter and after attending Valparaiso University in Indiana, the ACM Chicago Arts Program in Chicago and a doing a stint in the beautiful landscape of Alaska, I decided that Vermont was truly my home. Never does a day go by that the breathtaking beauty of my home state doesn't make me stop and smile. No wonder I love making pictures here!
I encourage you to contact me with any questions or feedback you might have. I always enjoy hearing from people!
